Yee haw!

For some reason my "nesting" has kicked in early this pregnancy. Much to Steve's chagrin, most of these nesting urges have been things that a pregnant woman cannot do (Ie. paint the basement, entertainment centre and McKenna's new room as well as rearrange almost every piece of furniture in the house). He works hard all day, comes home and plays with us and then is usually up late working on these projects after both of us have gone to bed.

Because of all the paint fumes, McKenna and I escaped to the fresh clean air of the ranch for a week. We left Steve behind to work while we enjoyed morning quad rides, petting the baby calves, feeding the horses and most days with both had a nice long nap in the afternoon.

The ranch is my favorite place other than my home and I think we'll be spending a lot of time down there as McKenna grows up. She definitely has "ranch blood" in her.
Here's a few of the highlights:

Walking down to the steel barn with her Easter chick in tow.

Meeting Trixie!
This calf is absolutely huge!! She was pulled from a hefer (1st year birthing cow) and was so big that she pinched some nerves in her back and can't quite stand. The men are doing their version of "physio" on her and she seems to be getting stronger every day. Hopefully she'll be running around in the field with the others when we visit next time.

McKenna's favorite horse Bandit.

Checking out Gyp's snack.

Riding with Grandpa.

I think this was the last mud puddle left on the entire ranch and of course McKenna found it and couldn't resist a few big splashes.

Walking home to Grandma and Grandpa's from the barn.
